Welcome to Python Northwest
Are you a Python developer or enthusiast? Are you based in or passing through the North-West of England? If so, then Python Northwest is for you!
Python Northwest is a Python user group for Pythoneers and Pythonistas of all levels and ages. We meet on the third Thursday of the month and alternate between talks sessions and coding sessions. We have a Google group http://groups.google.com/group/python-north-west which we use as our mailing list.
Our next meeting is on Thursday 20th June 2013, 7pm at MadLab, 36-40 Edge Street, Manchester, M4 1HN.
This will be a coding meet - theme TBC
Our previous meeting was a talk from Ben Nuttall on MongoDB on 16th May 2013. Read about what we got up to at this meeting or take a look at what we did at previous meetings.
About Python
Python is a general-purpose, dynamic, object-oriented programming language whose clear syntax makes it a great language to learn and use. As an interpreted language, no compilation is needed so the edit-test-debug cycle is very fast. In addition, its standard library is large and comprehensive. All of this makes Python a very productive language which has rapidly gained in popularity in many areas of computing. Python is free to use, even for commercial products.
If you're new to the Python programming language then the official Python website is a good place to start.
